01 · PART GEOMETRY

Connector fit and a consistent visible face

The elongated panel combines round holes, shaped openings and a blue visible face. The openings serve as both assembly interfaces and visible edges, making support, edge treatment and handling part of the same manufacturing task.

  • Panel geometry after release

02 · MACHINING CHALLENGES

Where geometry shapes the machining approach

01

Long narrow geometry

CHALLENGE

Unsupported spans may move during pocketing or release after clamping.

PROCESS CONTROL

Support the panel along its length and balance material removal before the final profile pass.

02

Anodized cosmetic edges

CHALLENGE

Tool marks, burrs and handling scratches become conspicuous on a coloured front face.

PROCESS CONTROL

Control edge preparation before treatment, agree fixture-contact positions and isolate finished panels during transfer.

03 · MANUFACTURING APPROACH

From locating datums to finished interfaces

  1. 01

Support the panel along its length

Choose clamp-contact areas away from the visible face and keep the panel supported as the openings are machined.

  2. 02

    Machine the connector interfaces

Link each opening to its connector geometry, retaining specified corner radii and edge conditions.

  3. 03

    Coordinate finishing and final fit

Define visible zones and masking before the specified finish; check the openings and protect the face during subsequent handling.

04 · INSPECTION FOCUS

Check the features that govern assembly

01

Aperture positions and profiles

Inspection method

Check the mixed aperture shapes and spacing; use the relevant connector or gauge where agreed.

Functional purpose

Allow connector installation without forcing the panel.

02

Panel geometry after release

Inspection method

Check specified flatness or straightness in the agreed free or supported state.

Functional purpose

Check the panel in its intended assembly condition.

03

Visible finish and protected interfaces

Inspection method

Compare with the approved appearance reference under consistent lighting and check masked interfaces.

Functional purpose

Keep visible appearance and functional interfaces consistent.

05 · HANDLING & DELIVERY

Protect the interfaces through handling and packing

PROTECTIVE HANDLING

Use separators between panels and keep the approved color-reference version with each finishing batch.
